Privacy

Privacy here is short because there is not much to tell. This page is written for a reader, not for a lawyer, and it describes the site as it actually runs today. It also does the formal work the law asks of a notice: the GDPR if you read from Europe, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 if you read from India. If you would like this notice in Hindi or another Indian language, write to us and we will send it.

Who is responsible

The site is published by Kinyoubi Atelier & Co., which is the data controller in GDPR terms and the data fiduciary in DPDP terms. For anything on this page, including complaints and grievances, write to support@bhagol.in. The grievance officer is the founder, and answers within two working days.

What this site collects

Nothing that identifies you. There is no account, no password, no login, no comment box, and no analytics script: we do not count you, tag you, or profile you. There is no advertising and there are no trackers.

This site sets no cookies. None. That is why there is no cookie banner: a banner asks consent for something, and there is nothing here to consent to. The note that greets a first visit is a disclaimer, not a consent request: it asks you for nothing, stores only its own dismissal, and never returns. The cookies page says the same at more length.

Two technical details, in the open:

- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, so Cloudflare's network handles your requests the way any host does, which involves your IP address in transit and in short-lived operational logs that we do not see. The legal footing is our legitimate interest in serving and securing the site (GDPR article 6(1)(f)); no more data is involved than serving a page requires. Cloudflare operates a global network, so a request is answered by whichever of its locations is nearest you, under Cloudflare's standard data processing terms. - Typefaces. The fonts are served from this site's own domain. No font, script, image, or stylesheet on this site loads from anybody else's server, so reading here tells no third party anything. (Until 31 July 2026 the typefaces loaded from Google Fonts; they no longer do.)

The sky wheel and your location

The wheel on the front page computes the current sky in your browser. The positions of the nine grahas are geocentric: they are the same from anywhere on Earth, so the wheel needs no location and asks for none.

One optional feature, the lagna, is different, because the rising point of the zodiac depends on where you stand. If you press "Show my lagna", your browser will ask you for permission to share your location, and then:

- the lagna is computed on your device, in the page you are reading; - your location is never sent to us or to anyone else; - it is not written to any storage, and it is forgotten when you leave the page or press "Forget my location".

Pressing the button is the consent, and not pressing it costs you almost nothing: the rest of the wheel is identical either way.

Your theme choice

The day and night toggle stores one word on your own device (browser localStorage) so the site remembers which you prefer. It is not a cookie, it never leaves your device, and it holds nothing about you except that preference. Dismissing the first-visit note stores one more word in the same place, and nothing else. Clearing your browser data removes both.

We never ask for birth details

The blog does not ask for your birth date, your birth time, or your birth place. There is no free chart here, and no form that wants one.

A birth time is among the most identifying things a person owns, and the usual reason a website wants it is to sell you something afterwards. The founder's fuller argument is in your birth details. If we ever build something that genuinely needs birth data, it will be a separate and clearly marked part of the site, with its own written terms, and it will not be this blog.

When the email list opens

The subscribe form is not live yet. When it opens, the email address you give it will be the first personal data we hold, this page will say so with a date, and the provider that stores the list will be named here. The legal footing will be your consent, given by subscribing, and withdrawn by unsubscribing: every mail will carry an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address. One email per new essay, and nothing else. The archive is never mailed.

What we will never do with an address you give us

- We will never sell it. - We will never rent, trade, or share it with another company for their use. - We will never pass it to an astrologer, a practitioner, or any other seller. - We will never use it to advertise somebody else's product to you. - We will never send you anything you did not subscribe to.

If any of that ever changes, this page will say so with a dated note, and the change will not apply to anything collected before the note.

If you buy a guide

Razorpay processes the payment and holds the payment record under its own policy; we hold only your payment reference and delivery address, for as long as tax law obliges us to keep purchase records, and we delete them on request where the law allows.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. We make no automated decisions about you and run no profiling, so there is nothing of that kind to object to.

If you are in India, the DPDP Act gives you the right to access a summary of your personal data and how it is processed, the right to correction and erasure, the right to grievance redressal, and the right to nominate a person to exercise your rights if you cannot. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Exercising any of these starts the same way: write to support@bhagol.in. Since the site holds almost nothing, the honest answer to an access request today is usually "we have nothing about you", and we will say so in writing.

The one-line version

We built the site so that there is almost nothing about you to protect. Keeping it that way is rule number ten of the standard.

Updated 31 July 2026: typefaces are now served from this site's own domain rather than Google Fonts, and the live sky wheel arrived with the location rules described above.

Updated 31 July 2026, later the same day: a cookies page was added, and a one-time note now greets a first visit. The note is a disclaimer, stores only its own dismissal, and asks for nothing.
